RAY &
ANASJA
VERNON

Ray and Anasja met at 17- what started as friendship quickly became partnership, calling, and a shared “yes” to God’s plan. Over the years, their relationship has been shaped by service, obedience, and a deep love for the local church.

Today, they are raising their growing family, R.A. Vernon III, Morae Vernon, and Raxton Vernon (arriving in August), while preparing to plant CO Church in Columbus.

Ray has served in church leadership since age 15, leading youth and young adult ministries, founding a campus ministry at Ashland University, and overseeing multi- campus strategy as Chief of Staff. He holds a Bachelor’s in Religion and is pursuing a Master’s in Black Church Studies.

Anasja has led Young Followers, the young adult ministry at The Word Church, for three years alongside Pastor Ray. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. Together, they are committed to building a church rooted in faith, family, formation, and impact.
